In bed with Frida |

I've been
reading a lot about Frida recently, and the strong stares in her self-portraits
are starting to make sense. The strong stares alone are captivating enough to
hold one’s attention, but now that I know that behind those eyes is an original
bad bitch I like her even more hah.
Frida was
born in the outskirts of Mexico City 1907, and has Hungarian Jewish and Indian Mestizo
blood. I won’t go on to explain every detail of her life, I haven’t finished
reading her biography yet, but she seemed like a person way ahead of her time.
Poor Frida was in a terrible car crash when she was about my age, and the pain
from such accident haunted her for the rest of life. Despite this she seemed to
be a cool person who attracted other cool people.
Frida and her
ugly famous artist husband Diego Rivera seemed to be partying in the USA, Mexico,
and Europe with all the big boys of their time, friends with all the big boy communists
and big boy capitalists. Their relationship seemed to be completely dysfunctional
as he always cheated and she always forgave him. Frida was also no saint, Trotsky
was attracted to her.
In in all,
despite no formal artist training, and all her life suffering, she is still remembered
today. An original bad bitch who will prevail through the ages.
